Emmanuel Jal: Hip Hop from Sudan

What surprised me, however, is obviously the big commitment to world music, to which I am about the World Music Video Spotlight in my Democracy TV Channel List hear. The current issue Sudanese rapper Emmanuel Jal portrays, a former child soldiers who are now committed to peace and Amnesty International in particular in Darfur. (more…)

More Music for the World Cup

10 years Root Down
Root Down very near Freiburg there is a peaceful forest lake and its shore, a traditional restaurant. A decade ago, said Rainer Truby on there if they could not even throw a party. The club night under the name Root Down hit like a bomb, and since then there regularly provide international DJs as the handle in his hand. (more…)

MySpace LogoWie mentioned more often, I can not really understand the success of MySpace. Or rather, for me personally I can not see any attractive platform on MySpace, but the reasons why MySpace has now received over 40 million registrations, I have been relatively clear. Fat Freddy's Drop in Frankfurt
Fat Freddy's DropAus New Zealand currently spilling the big hype about the reggae-soul band Fat Freddy's Drop on all seven seas over to us. Nothing really earth shattering, you might say, and besides: who already interested in playing there Kiwi community that seems to be under strong Jamaican influence? The fame did not happen overnight: singer Joe Dukie for Recloose Dust was already behind the microphone, FFD scored their second last year with a Semi-Hit and Hope were allowed to perform live for Gilles Peterson. A look in the mirror
Common today, tomorrow I have spared the look in the mirror again, mostly because that's just after getting up is not particularly great, what do I get there to see. The online edition of Der Spiegel in turn is worth a look from time to time. There is then gegroovet violently or with the head nodding, when the newest black music discs are monitored and reviewed.
