Conference – KontaktIm Latin means to gather conferre something together bring a point to share. The project Conference by Klaus Jatho, Joachim Krohn and Marc Bornée is described by its name that is pretty good, because the three musicians wear jazzy fan, computer grooving beats, one time driving, sometimes casually grooving bass and the soulful voices of different guest vocalists bring together and this mixture is very casual to the point. Laurel Aitken live in MünchenDas here should be no obituary blog, but if one of the greats of us goes, then it should again be accorded respect. At the age of 78 years yesterday Laurel Aitken, the so-called Godfather of Ska, died. Almost to the end he was still a regular on the stages of this world, even in Germany, he was always happy to concerts. (more…)

Festivals in Europe Part 1 – Belgium and the Netherlands
Every small town in Germany now seems to have its own festival, the boom appears to be unbroken. The relevant Festival Guides include more than 300 festivals. However, these are often dominated by heavy rock acts, the New Urban Music Group is once again not as good as represented. Exceptions are the Melt! Festival and the 8th Summer Of Music And Arts in Cologne, where at least play LTJ Bukem and Roots Manuva. (more…)
A look in the mirror
Common today, tomorrow I have spared the look in the mirror again, mostly because that's just after getting up is not particularly great, what do I get there to see. The online edition of Der Spiegel in turn is worth a look from time to time. There is then gegroovet violently or with the head nodding, when the newest black music discs are monitored and reviewed.
